He has held various positions such as VP of Financial Reporting in the Insurance/Financial services sector, Managing/Founding Partner in a Boutique Advisory Practice, National Director of an International Accounting Firm, Founding Principal of a Real Estate Syndication and Founding Partner of a Business Advisory Firm.
As a partner at WBM, he provides business succession, business transition, accounting, tax planning, estate planning, and general business advice for private enterprises. In addition to this Al-Karim manages the Administrative day-to-day aspects that are critical to the success of WBM. From making sure that firm is recruiting top talent, overseeing the IT Infrastructure and recently with the impact of Covid-19 ensuring the safety of professionals working at WBM while ensuring minimal impact to client service.
Al-Karim believes in giving back to the community through volunteering, he has been on the Board for CUPS, Board for ACG(Calgary), Trade Development Advisory Committee Member for the Calgary Economic Development, Registrations Advisory Committee Member for CPA Alberta, Fund Development Conveyor for Aga Khan Foundation Canada and currently is on the Advisory Committee for the AICPA Engage Conference (AICPA and CPA Canada).
